Biographical Text
Christopher Lombardoni lived in Mahwah as well as Whitesboro, NY and he was a Marine. His brother John also served. He joined the Marine corps in March 1980, and completed his recruit training in January 1981, at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC. In May of 1982, he moved on to the Brigade Service Support Group Four, 2nd Force Service Support Group at Camp Lejeune, NC; his rank was Lance Corporal. This progressed to Lombardoni being involved in two massive NATO exercises, the “Northern Wedding-82” and “Bold Guard-82” in October 1982. Travelling around the world was part of the experience for him; as of December 1983, he had participated in Operation Urgent Fury in Grenada, and was switching to serving in the multinational peacekeeping fleet at Beirut, Lebanon. Specifically, this was the 22nd Amphibious Unit. He returned on June 24, 1984.
