Biographical Text
My maternal grandfather John Janisheski, (Januczewsky, Janiezewsky) had a meat market on Island Rd. When he was first here he lived in Sloatsburg NY and went to WWI from there. I’ve heard the library has I picture that at one time hung of all the Sloatsburg men going off to WWI I’d love to have a copy of that picture but no luck so far. He was born 11 Sept 1895 he was discharged 20 June 1919.
