Anthony Ostrowski enlisted into the U.S. Army on 1951-02-02. Ostrowski served in Korea. The period of 1951-1953 saw the first United Nations counteroffensive, a Communist Chinese Forces spring offensive, a UN summer-fall offensive in 1951, and numerous attempts at armistice. The Korean War ended on 1953-07-27. Ostrowski continued to serve until his discharge as a sergeant on 1955-02-01.
Biographical Text
Anthony Joseph Ostrowski was born on 1927-08-30 to Peter and Adela Ostrowski in Mahwah, NJ. He had three older siblings: John, William, and Anne. The Ostrowski family lived on Island Road, Mahwah. Ostrowski is a graduate of the Immaculate Heart of Mary School and Ramsey High School. He worked at Allied Products, Inc. He served in the Army between 1951-1955.
Shortly after his Army discharge, Ostrowski married Joan P. Dimmock in October 1956. The Ostrowski’s had three children: Robert, Michael, and Linda. They lived in Mahwah. Ostrowski worked as a warehouse coordinator for Avon Products, Inc and a member of Mahwah’s V.F.W. post. Ostrowski passed away on 1983-03-25. He was 55.
