Biographical Text

Norman Hetzel was born April 1, 1917 in Ho-Ho-Kus Township, NJ. He enlisted for World War II on December 1, 1942. His rank was Technician 5th Grade and he fought as part of Branch Immaterial, Warrant Officers, USA.

Around this time, Hetzel was also a student at the American Welding School and lived in Oakland, NJ, west of Valley Road. Later on, he became a groundskeeper for Bergen County Parks and Recreation Dept. and lived in Mahwah.
