John Soha, Sr. was drafted and enlisted into the United States Army on 1943-02-01. In December 1943, Soha was stationed at Camp Forrest, TN. In September 1944, Soha was stationed in England. He supplied ordnance materials such as ammunition and weapons to the expeditionary forces in Europe. In February 1945, Private First Class Soha was serving with an aviation ordnance detachment in Europe. Soha continued to serve until his discharge on 1952-01-25.

John Peter Soha, Sr. was born on 1924-05-31 to Michael Sr. and Mary Ann Soha in Mahwah, NJ. Soha was the youngest child of four. His older siblings were George, Michael Jr., and Mary. The Soha’s lived on Island Road, Mahwah. Soha worked briefly for Allied Products before his draft and enlistment into the Army in 1943.
Soha was discharged from the Army in 1952. He married Mary Inglis on 1953-06-21 in Ramapo, NY. The Soha’s lived in Mahwah with their two sons John, Jr. and Robert. Soha worked at the American Tack and Hardware Company in Monsey, NY until his retirement in 1979. He was a member of Mahwah VFW Post #7124, the Amalgamated Jewelry Workers of America, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church (Mahwah). Soha passed away on 1994-11-26. He was 70.
