Military Service Description

Kenneth Foster enlisted into the United States Army on 1942-08-15. Foster was promoted to sergeant in 1943. In 1945, Foster served for six months in Europe before reporting to Camp McCall, NC on September 30. In addition to Camp McCall, Foster was stationed at Fort Riley, KS, Portsmouth, VA, and Minnesota. Foster served with the Army Engineers and a parachute division. Foster was discharged from the Army on 1945-20-12.

Biographical Text

Kenneth Foster was born on 1921-02-10 to James Sr. and Marie Foster in Suffern, NY. Foster had two older brothers: James Jr. and Robert. His younger sister was June. The Foster family lived on Highland Road, Mahwah. Foster graduated from Ramsey High School in 1940. He served in the United States Army from 1942 until his discharge in 1945. Foster married Priscilla Elizabeth Hall in 1948 at the Congregational Church of South Dennis, MA. Foster attended Moorhead Teacher’s College in Moorhead, MN. He was employed in Malden, MA. The Fosters lived in South Dennis, MA with their son Kenneth Hall Foster. Foster died on 1987-09-04. He was 66.
