Biographical Text
Stephen Stringer Lush was born on March 31st, 1914 to parents William Ganesvoort, and Rose (Mahler) Lush. He only had one sibling whose name is currently unknown to us at the museum. He would work for a majority of his life as an assistant supervisor while living in many different parts of the local areas on Long Island, Staten Island, New York City, New London Connecticut, and of course Mahwah New Jersey. He was also married twice to Helen Mayes (Moore) Lush, and Mary Irene (Rich) Lush. Throughout both his marriages he had no children with either wife and would serve honorably in the United States Navy during the Second World War presumably in the Pacific theater though that is not fully confirmed. Stephen Stringer Lush was a honorable man whom served his country well and lived a simple quiet until the end when he passed away on January 9th, 1989 where he would be forever interned at Albany, Rural Cemetery.
