Military Service Description
Between 1944 and 1946, Balogh was an engineer for the Navy in World War II, and his highest rank was Lieutenant, Junior-grade (LTJG). He travelled on a few different ships, and landed in Cuba, Italy, France, and England. His brother John also served in the war effort. Finally, in 1963 Benjamin Balogh retired from the Navy.

Biographical Text
Benjamin Balogh, Jr. was born in Mahwah and lived on Darlington Avenue, in what was then considered Hohokus Township, NJ, but that land is now part of Ramsey, NJ. Both of his parents were from Hungary. He went on to graduate from Ramsey High School, and there is a picture from the 1938 yearbook when he was in the junior class. As well, he graduated from the Merchant Marines Academy.
Between 1944 and 1946, Balogh was an engineer for the Navy in World War II, and his highest rank was Lieutenant, Junior-grade (LTJG). He travelled on a few different ships, and landed in Cuba, Italy, France, and England. His brother John also served in the war effort. Finally, in 1963 Benjamin Balogh retired from the Navy. He married Margaret Molnar and had two daughters.
Balogh later worked as a systems analyst for New Jersey Bell Telephone Co., and was also employed at the Immaculate Conception Seminary in Mahwah, now in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Balogh was also a member of Telephone Pioneers of America.
