Military Service Description
Hilton Mabie enlised in the Air Force in 1942 and trained in Nashville, TN and Coriscana, TX. He traveled with a large bomber group from the United States to England, and served as a bomber pilot who served in action over Germany. On January 11, 1944 his plane was lost over Brunswick, Germany,. He was listed as missing in action until his remains were found in September 1944. Suffern native Thonas Sutherland was the navigator on the flight and was also lost.
Biographical Text
Hilton C. Mabie was born and raised in Mahwah, by his parents father Harry, and mother Florence. He was a graduate of Hohokus Township schools and Ramsey High School. He was a member of Boy Scout Troop 50. After graduation he worked at the Southern Wheel Company of Sayre, PA. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1942 and was killed in combat in 1944.

Hilton Mabie's parents were Harry and Florence Mabie. He had a brother, Glenn.
